Best Practices

  • Shake well before use – Our products run through a 1 micron filter before bottling so any micro-particles you may see won’t clog dosing systems or emitters.
  • Use clean measuring instruments – do not put anything into the bottle to avoid contamination.
  • To increase target EC – Always use equal parts A & B to maintain mineral balance.
  • DO NOT combine products in undiluted form – This renders the formulas useless and must be disposed of.
  • Store closed in original packaging – Keep at a temperature between 45° F and 85° F. Exposure to the environment will reduce shelf-life.
  • Adjust recipe as needed – Every cultivar and growing environment is unique. Adjust accordingly to maintain plant health and vigor. If you get stuck, please contact Athena for help.

Rockwool

This Feeding Schedule is ideal when using rockwool media. Most cultivars do well with a lower EC when minerals are properly balanced. If you have heavy feeders it’s okay to increase A/B dosage slightly (always in equal amounts).

Coco Coir

Fully inert coco tends to lock up initial doses of minerals, leaving the plants potentially deficient in early stages. A good practice is to charge the media before transplant with a higher dosage—week four Grow or Bloom is usually a good target. Experienced growers often find plants can take higher dosages in coco (up to 3.0 EC), depending on irrigation frequency.

Recirculating/DWC

In a recirculating reservoir, different minerals are absorbed faster than others, leaving a solution imbalanced over time. If you top off water levels, add back all fertilizers based on the amount of water added. We recommend weekly reservoir changes to reestablish mineral balance. Use Cleanse every day at 2-5ml per gallon.

Soil/Soilless

If the soil is already charged with fertilizer or amendments, start a lower dosage. Monitor runoff until you see nominal EC levels. This Feed Schedule works well in most soil conditions. If your media has a lot of perlite (+30%), increase EC. Perlite reduces CEC so media doesn’t hold as many minerals.

athena Grow Feed Chart

Athena Grow is a simple and clean formula designed for the vegetative stage of growth and for non-flowering plants. Our careful balanced mineral ratios help facilitate optimal plant development including photosynthesis, healthy respiration, and robust stalk and root growth.

This 2-part blended liquid formula should be used in equal amounts during the flowering phase to stimulate the rapid onset of bud production, increase flowering sites, and promote high-quality yields.

Formulas are sediment free and are compatible with all dosing and irrigation systems in including fine dripper heads. Small amounts of micro-particles are occasionally visible in some conditions but will not affect mineral balance or system compatibility.

Athena Bloom is a simple and clean 2-part formula designed for the flowering stage of growth for fruit and flower-producing plants. We blend top of the line macronutrients and chelated micronutrients to achieve greater nutrient uptake ability across a wider pH range in any combination of grow method, water-type and media.

Stack is a natural plant nutrient made from kelp extract. The nutrients in Stack encourage healthy growth and flowering. Stack gives the plant tools to reach its full genetic potential. When used as a foliar or root drench, Stack helps correct minor potassium deficiencies.

Instructions for use:
May be used as a foliar spray or root drench, one application weekly. Safe for use in irrigation systems. Stack contains organic ingredients and may separate in storage. Shake well before use.

Athena pK Feed Chart

Athena PK is a balanced bloom boosting complement to our Bloom fertilizers. This clean liquid booster is designed to supplement during the mid- to late-flowering phase. Athena PK is a low Nitrogen booster that provides additional Phosphorus and Potassium that high-yielding plants require for maximal production. Many PK boosters add far too much of these elements and create a cascade of problems, such as reducing Calcium and Magnesium availability. Balanced elemental bioavailability is essential in the flowering phase to boost essential oil and terpene production.

Athena Cleanse is made from the ideal (and safe) root zone optimizing agents–Hypochlorous acid. This safe and mild acid is derived from salt and a proprietary electrochemical treatment process. The result is a unique, plant-safe chemical with powerful oxidative properties to keep your root zone clean and free of unwanted organisms and buildup. These special properties improve both mineral and oxygen availability in the growing media.

Athena Balance

Athena Balance is a simple formula of potassium silicate specifically concentrated to buffer irrigation water and stabilize to ideal pH. Silicon additionally benefits plant growth, stem structure, stress reduction, water usage (osmoregulation), and nutrient utilization.

Commercial growers find better results, particularly with reverse osmosis (RO) water, when buffering first with Athena Balance. Pure RO water has unstable chemical structure that can trap other nutrients when added without a buffer. Athena Balance adds just enough to the water to create a more homogenous fertilizer solution and reduce the need to pH adjust after mixing.
